BROMSGROVE were held to a 2-2 draw by local rivals Redditch in West Midlands Division One.

Redditch drew first blood when a neatly worked penalty corner allowed them to take the lead through Steve Cooke.

Cooke was sin-binned for Redditch as Bromsgrove took control.

Bromsgrove fought back and were rewarded when good full back play from Ziggy Smith forced an own goal.

Veit Wasserfuhr fired Bromsgrove ahead after good work by Andy Langlands.

But Redditch equalised straight away when a penalty flick was awarded and for once keeper Chris Uren was beaten by Richard Sellors.

They entertain Kingswinford on Saturday.

Captain Laurence Shah said: “ We see this as two points lost rather than a point gained.

“We have to focus on Kingswinford who are the only team to beat us this year.”
