MICHAEL Pardoe lived up to his top billing with an excellent display at Stoke Prior on Sunday.

The 27-year-old welterweight outpointed Plymouth’s Wes Smith in an entertaining bout.

There were several other excellent displays from Droitwich Amateur Boxing Club members.

Light-middleweight Aidan Cawley, 21, showed good skills to outscore the game Josh Kirby.

Light-heavyweight Jon Childs, 30, powered his way to victory, with the referee stopping his contest against Oldbury’s Tom Moore in the second round.

Luke Evans, 15, was too strong for Lewis Pritchard, while Joe Doyle, 11, was another winner by a wide margin, comprehensively out-boxing the more experienced Ethan Shallam from Newport.

There were also wins for Lewis Smith, Tyrone Manley and Richard Evans.
