FAIRFIELD Villa were shot down 3-2 by fellow mid-table side Shirley Town at home in the Midland Combination Division One on Saturday.
The Recreation Ground oufit had Ellis Blakemore and Scott Gaffney hit the back of the net.
But Kevin Spencer, Noel Walsh and Paul Whitehead pounced for Shirley.
Defeat means Fairfield remain ninth in the table, one point behind Saturday’s opponents.
They will be looking to bounce back when they entertain local rivals Droitwich Spa in the league on Saturday (1.30pm kick off).
Spa saw their clash at Coton Green postponed on Saturday.
While Fairfield are solidly mid-table, struggling Droitwich are second from bottom with two wins from their 13 games.
