Droitwich tread all over Dunlop to record first win of season

Droitwich 18, Dunlop 15
DROITWICH turned in a solid performance to claim their first win of the league campaign and lift themselves from the foot of the table.
Playing with the strong, blustery gale in the first period Spa looked to attack, but often their handling close to the line let them down.
Despite the errors, there were impressive contributions in attached from Chris Oliver and Mark Strutt.
After good work in the forwards by Russ Brown and Rob Poke, Ben Skinner went close before Ross Midgley took the ball on to find Poke again in support to power his way over and score.
Bobby Scott-Walker added the tricky conversion to hand Droitwich a 7-0 lead.
The period saw Dunlop use the wind and attack the Droitwich line, which initially held strong, with Dave Ingram and Alex Saddington putting in some good tackles before the visitors eventually crashed over and score.
The visitors again attached, but excellent work by Glen Topping saw Droitwich steal the ball and feed it along the line to winger Ben Rean.
From inside his own half he showed a superb turn of speed to out spring the defence and score a marvellous try.
Dunlop hit back with a penalty before Scott-Walker kicked two brilliant efforts in to the wind to give the home side some breathing space.
The final moments were frantic as Dunlop attacked before eventually crashing over to score.
But by this time Droitwich had just done enough and were able to hold on and end their five-match losing streak in the Midlands Division Two West (South).
