PLAYER boss Colin Rudge got on the scoresheet as Droitwich Spa ended a run of three straight defeats with a 4-2 defeat of third-placed Hampton in Midland Cmbination Division One.
After going behind to their previously unbeaten visitors after Ben Stanway’s own goal, Andy Crowther’s long-range volley plus goals from James Ward and Rudge swung the game Spa’s way and despite the Solihull-based side pulling one back from the penalty spot through Jamie Williams ten minutes from time they restored the two-goal cushion courtesy of Nick Seabourne’s laste strike.
Rudge was delighted to halt the slide and is now preparing for an equally testing trip to Sutton United on Saturday.
He said: “It was a great performance from the lads, we were by far the superior side.
“Sutton will be tough, all games in this division are, they have a strong and competitive side.”
