Rouslers sign full-back Morris

BROMSGROVE Sporting left it late before knocking last season’s West Midland League runners-up Lye Town out of the FA Vase this week.
Recent recruit Ricardo Richards headed home an 89th minute winner to enabled Sporting to book a home tie with fellow Midland Combination side Stafford Town in the next round on September 21.
Sporting joint boss Adie Mander said: “It was our best home performance of the season so far. We knew that Lye were an excellent side, so we set ourselves up to make sure we’d be hard to beat.
“In fact we should have won by more. We missed two one-on-one’s with the goalkeeper while Jacob Snape struck the post with a penalty.”
Sporting brought in Redditch United player Jack Wilson for his debut, while Will Tibbetts returned to boost the side.
Sporting have also signed full-back Danny Morris from rivals Earlswood Town, who was expected to feature in this week’s trip to Littleton.
Mander added: “We’re still looking to bring in another striker.
“Quite a few clubs have strengthened since last season and there must be at least half a dozen sides capable of winning the Midland Combination this time”.
Sporting travel to Pilkington this Saturday and then take on Midland Combination Division One side Aston in the Les James Cup.
