Mander demands players 'put things right' after Bank Holiday weekend defeats

ADIE Mander has called on his players to ‘put things right’ after Bromsgrove Sporting suffered double Bank Holiday weekend home defeats.
The Rouslers suffered a 3-2 loss at the hands of 10 men Alvis Sporting on Saturday thanks to a last-gasp goal.
Even worse, former Sporting boss Keith Draper saw his Earlswood side defeating Sporting 2-0 at the Victoria Ground on Monday.
With Earlswood ground sharing with Bromsgrove this season, Sporting were technically the away side at the Victoria Ground.
Joint-boss Mander was furious with the players after their disappointing weekend.
He said: “It’s up to the players to put things right, they owe it to the fans, the management and themselves.
“We should never have lost on Saturday, the momentum was with us but we left a huge gap in defence and let Alvis score a winner. The defending was criminal.
“We just didn’t show up against Earlswood, I can’t take anything away from them but we were very poor.
“We’ve told the players if they don’t want to be here they don’t have to be.”
Mander and managerial partner Graham Scott are also looking to bring in one or two new faces.
Sporting were set to talk to striker Chris Conway this week after their seven-day bid came to an end.
However, it looks unlikely the Stourport Swifts striker would welcome a return to his old club.
Sporting will be hoping for better fortune at their home ground on Saturday when they entertain Stafford Town (3pm ko).
They then welcome Castle Vale next Tuesday (7.45pm ko).
Mander said: “After losing the last two matches at home it’s important to bounce back. The players have a lot to prove.”
