THE three Evans brothers from Droitwich Amateur Boxing Club enjoyed a successful tournament when they all won at a charity dinner event in Ross on Wye.

Luke Evans, 14, started strongly against Sam Elvins from Bristol and always seemed in control of the bout to win on points.

There were also points victories for his younger brothers Richard, 13, and Danny, 11, who beat opponents from Bristol and Ross respectively.

It was the first time Danny and his opponent had been in the ring and their contest proved so entertaining it was adjudged the bout of the night.

Paul Butler, 15, also appeared on the same programme against another opponent from Bristol and lost narrowly on points.

Boxers from the Droitwich club are back in action on Friday when the club hold another of its popular tournaments at the Stoke Prior Sports and Country Club, Weston Hall Road, Stoke Prior, Bromsgrove B60 4AL. Boxing is due to start at 8pm and tickets are available on the door (£10 adults, £5 children).
