Superstars hit back to reach the last eight

JUNIOR FOOTBALL: Santiago Colts Superstars under-10s came from behind to beat Solihull 2-1 and book their place in the League Shield quarter-final.

Goals for Adam Curzey and Ryan Harper changed the game, while Harvey Thompson was man of the match.

Beth Breen grabbed a hat-trick as Santiago Girls Colts defeated Kewford Eagles 4-2. Louise O’Connell bagged the other, while Sarah Fox and Chelsea Stephens shared the player-of-the-match award.

In the under-11s, Colts’ Knights saw off Callowbrook Swifts 3-0 thanks to Tom Hobbis’ treble.

Santiago Colts under-13s beat Bromsgrove Blades 4-2, with Morgan Jerimie, Luke Field, Josh Lucas and Jeson Willets hitting the back of the net.

Connor Rushton (2) and Rebecca Chalinor scored as Santiago Colts under-11s got the better of Sheldn Royal Eagles 3-1. Keeper Jake Marsden also saved a penalty.

Joe Cope scored as Santiago Colts under-9s beat 1-0 Bromford Lions.

The Colts Lickey were edged out 1-0 by Highgate under-15s, despite the efforts of man of the match Danny Ross.

Santiago Colts Allstars under-10s went out of the League Cup, losing 5-1 to Studley after taking an early lead through Joe Wathen.

Santiago Colts under-12s suffered a 13-0 defeat at the hands of Football Futures.

Meanwhile, Meadow Park under-10s got the better of title rivals Worcester Colts 4-0.

They powered into a 2-0 lead thanks to first half goals for Alex Quaynor and Jamie Thomas.

After the break, Quaynor bagged his second and Curtis Turner scored Park’s fourth to seal a fine win and cut the gap below Worcester to just a point.

The two teams will meet again this Saturday in a cup semi-final.
