BROMSGROVE Bears women’s and men’s teams have continued to show signs they are progressing despite mixed fortunes on the court in recent weeks.
The women continued their improvement in terms of performance but are still waiting for their first win in the National Basketball League Division Two Midlands South after they were edged out 67-44 by Cardiff Celts.
Meanwhile, the men went down 62-59 to Derby Trailblazers in a hard fought encounter.
But they bounced back to beat Loughborough Students Riders 62-55 to win their first match in the NBL Division Four on Sunday, with Haydon Thomas Gibbons top-scoring with 15 points.
That victory over the Loughborough was hot on the heels of a 75-57 victory over Division Three North outfit Shropshire Warriors in National Shield the previous week.
Top scorers were Gibbons (17 points), Hall 16 pts) and McLean (12 pts).
They now face Ipswich on Sunday, November 11 at Bromsgrove School Arena.
