DROITWICH powered to their fourth consecutive victory in the Midlands Two West (South) with a second-half try blast.

Victory over the visitors allowed Spa to leapfrog them and move up to fourth.

While leaders Old Laurentians have started to open a gap at the top of the table, the Glyn Mitchell Memorial Ground outfit have closed to within four points of second-placed Kenilworth.

They continued there excellent recent form as a determined defensive effort laid foundations to a deserved victory.

The match began with a first-half which saw both teams shared possession but failed to register any points.

After both sides drew a blank in the first-half, it was Droitwich who made in-roads after the break as they upped a gear.

A good team effort brought three tries as Matthew Barnes, Craig Mortlemans and Stu Brooks touched down, while Bobby Scott-Walker added a conversion. Dunlop could only reply with one score.

Spa will be looking to build on their momentum on Saturday when they tackle newly-promoted Shipston-on-Stour away (2.30pm ko).
