MAYBE someone on Bromsgrove Council can explain why there were no Union Jack flags or bunting decorating High Street during the Diamond Jubilee celebrations?

I know there was an event in Sanders Park, but anyone passing through the town as a visitor must have thought what a miserable place Bromsgrove is.

In the last couple of weeks I have visited several towns in Worcestershire and Shropshire and there have been amazingpatriotic displays with bunting adorning the high streets and shop windows also getting into the spirit.

Several years ago, during the Bromsgrove Festival, bunting was always strung across High Street and left in place until the carnival was over.

This surely must have encouraged visitors to stop in the town to see what was happening.

They probably spent money here too. Bromsgrove Council needs to wake up and start promoting this once thriving, attractive and ancient market town before visitors stop coming all together.
