AS an elected member of Barnt Green Parish Council, my underlying motivation is transparency in meetings and dealings with residents.

Imagine my incomprehension responding to a churlish letter regarding our decision to give each household in the parish a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee mug (Your View, May 9).

This is the writer’s right, but, to hide behind the anonymity of name and address supplied is questionable. If the writer is a resident of Barnt Green, I anticipate them refusing the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee mug when it is offered. Should I stand for Barnt Green Parish Council again, the writer can vote me out of office as can any other resident holding the same crass view at what is a significant historic event.
