Before she decided to stand down for the second time, Julie Kirkbride stated that she would comply fully with the findings of the Legg report and pay back any expenses that she had inadvertently over claimed.

She also stated that she expected to be cleared of any wrong doing.

This does not seem to be the case. In this week’s press, it has been announced that both Julie Kirkbride and her husband, shamed MP Andrew MacKay, are amongst 70 MPs challenging the findings of Sir Thomas Legg and appealing demands for repayment of ‘improper’ claims.

Julie Kirkbride seems to break her word with alarming regularity and Bromsgrove should be rejoicing her removal. Of course, both Miss Kirkbride and Mr MacKay will reap the considerable benefits afforded to disgraced MPs forced to stand down.

Let us hope that the parasites amongst the Conservative Association who hoped to benefit from her continuing reign will follow suit.

Shame on them all.
