Everyone across the district will be dismayed by the threat to the Princess of Wales Hospital announced quietly by an email from NHS Worcestershire.
The stakeholder brief calls for a complete review of health services across Worcestershire, including major change to local health care services.
That could result in community hospitals across the county being taken over by the Acute Hospitals Trust in Worcester. Government in London is calling for a preferred option to be submitted before the end of March.
It is well known that the Acute Hospitals Trust is under financial pressure. But this plan is complete vandalism that would destroy the special nature of our community hospitals. It’s an unwelcome distraction from the real challenges that our NHS faces. And it has no local support and that has to be the basis of any change.
It’s a total disgrace for Labour to try to push through such fundamental change to our healthcare in Bromsgrove just 90 days before the general election.
I am writing to Andy Burnham MP, Labour’s secretary of state for health, calling for this review to be delayed until after the general election so that people in Bromsgrove can have their say.

Is there anywhere it is stated that the Local Hospitals are under threat of closure or is this a case of chinese whispers and an idependant PPC trying to find a cause to carry him to victory?
Like the good Doctor in Kidderminster achieved there.
At the moment it appears to be just a review so we need to find out the facts first before we start petitions etc to prevent the closure that hasn't been anounced
