I have every sympathy with your correspondent from East Lodge Farm who was treated to an everyday sample of ill-bred behaviour from invaders on his land.
I seem to remember almost a year ago, a promising 15-year-old girl was virtually decapitated and four friends badly injured in Yorkshire, while sledging down a hill on an upturned Land Rover roof. They collided with a barbed wire fence.
The scene was later flooded with police and health and safety officers who, no doubt, will have trotted out the now overused line that there are lessons to be learned here.
Oh, how short memories are. In a week that has seen two young lads sent to secure custody for torturing two others. Society throws up its hands in horror for a few days and learns no lessons at all.
