Disabled drivers

Having parked at Bromsgrove HUB to visit BDC, I was ticketed for parking in a disabled bay with a blue badge and clock.

How come they have different regulations for the same car park? Some disabled bays are free for 30 minutes while the rest you are obliged to pay even though they may be only feet from each other.

The blue badge scheme allows people with severe mobility problems, who have difficulty using public transport, to park for free.

This means badge holders can park close to where they need to go.

The scheme operates throughout the UK. (directgov.co.uk).

Except in Bromsgove it seems where disabled drivers are obliged to carry money at all times when visiting the town centre for parking – quote from the transport and engineering officer.

If you have a credit/debit card run fast if you want cash for the parking meter. (I am being sarcastic, but I think you know where I am coming from.) The council do not seem to listen. Maybe the people, disabled or not, should stand up and have their say.
