IN response to the ‘seating row may cost thousands’ article in the Bromsgrove Advertiser on January 20.

So, like a recalcitrant child Councillor Peter McDonald, Labour, and his acolytes pushed the democratic process and protocols to its limits and steadfastly refused to move from the majority seat that they had been democratically removed from. Am I surprised, no.

Ultra Labour left wingers like Mr McDonald have always been the scourge of democracy and freedom in this country and I will now petition the New Labour Party that they are in fact financially responsible for their comrades undemocratic and intransigent behaviour and that the Labour Party should in principle foot the £45,000 pound bill and not Bromsgrovians.

The picture on the front of The Advertiser clearly depicts McDonald and the other Labour councillors, who were clearly in awe of him, ignoring the reasoned pleas of the police officer who was trying to implement peacefully the democratic process.

This scene that McDonald created is not unlike the disgraceful scenes that we see daily via the BBC and CNN covering the banana republic’s of North Korea, Zimbabwe and the former state of Iraq under Saddam Hussein.

As they say “absolute power corrupts absolutely.”

On a lighter note, can Bromsgrove re-draw the boundaries and return Rubery to Birmingham?
