While out enjoying the weather on Saturday, June 27, I spent some time in the late afternoon sat in the High Street with my wife and our pet dog Buster.
Numerous people approached us and asked politely if they could stroke our dog, to which I gladly agreed to.
Several people we spoke to stated that the breed of dog that Buster is are wrongly given a bad reputation due to reports on the television, national press and recently in your newspaper.
However, our day was blighted when returning to our car on Asda car park where a small dog (not the same breed as Buster) jumped out of the window of its owner’s car and attacked our dog.
As I picked our dog up and away from the aggressive dog, I noticed that it had attached itself to Buster’s hind leg.
Our dog did not growl, bark, bite or retaliate in any way because, due to good, responsible pet ownership, our dog knows that we, his owners, are his protectors and not his natural instinct.
Buster is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and we are proud to be his owners.
In our opinion there is no such thing as an aggressive breed of dog, just irresponsible ownership.
