I AM writing as a concerned citizen of the Bromsgrove district.
I am starting to get concerned about the Julie Must Go group and the petition.
I was in support of the campaign as it was being done for the right reasons and signed the petition knowing that it would be passed to the Conservatives to show the strength of feelings in Bromsgrove about what Julie has done.
It always goes to whom you are petitioning against.
I had a look on the Facebook site of the group and am concerned about the tone it is now taking with Mark France now stating on the ‘wall’ of the site that: “The local Tory party are starting a witchunt against supporters of the campaign picking on me as the spokesman and they have used their influence to try to get me sacked from my job.
“No doubt they will target other people who signed. We need to have a meeting of supporters and decide together how to proceed.”
He then states: “It has been suggested to me that we ‘dedact’ or is it ‘redact’ the petition by blacking out ‘details that can identify personal details’ just as the MPs’ have done with their expenses receipts! These people are unscrupulous... and vicious....”
I have added comments on the wall, but Mr France saw good to remove 50 per cent of the comments even though he believes in free speech.
It appears that the media and residents of Bromsgrove are being duped and manipulated by Mr France to further his cause. The comments that I added and he removed are below “Mark France states below that the group should behave like the government and “hide” the info by blacking out the details.
“If this happens then the group is doing the same as the government. The mood in the country is disgust that the government has blacked out the info so now the Julie Must Go campaign would be doing the same thing. So they will be seen as on the same level as the MPs.
“Come on – if this campaign is to remain non-political then hand over the petition now to the people it was intended to go to.
“If this campaign is going to be used to further Mark France’s political aspirations then the feelings of the Bromsgrove people will have been abused as this is appearing to be a means to keep Mr France in the public eye.”
Why is the trouble he is in at the moment someone else’s fault?
When you start a job you are given a contract and you are advised on the responsibilities that go with the job.
Is he hoping that the media will make the DWP keep him?
There are many people that work in the civil service and abide by these rules, why is he different?
