Expensive mistake

Bromsgrove shopper, in the June 17 issue, feels strongly that his 61p daily contribution to the EU is money well spent, which is strange, as I have always regarded Bromsgrove folk as quite shrewd. He/she is apparently unconcerned that £ 41 million a day goes to a disorganised bureaucracy that has had no signed off audited accounts for 15 years and can only reliably vouch for seven per cent of its spending.

In 2006 the entire un-elected ruling commission was forced to resign due to the level of corruption it was presiding over.

He/she quotes Liz Lynne’s sterling contribution to British employment when we lost a quarter of a million jobs between February and April.

Is he/she, aware that as Ryton on Dunsmore was closing the EU was funding its replacement factory in Slovakia and what did our EU membership do for Longbridge or LDV?

We joined the Common Market (nothing more) when in 1972 Edward Heath signed the Treaty of Rome without reading it and, in so doing, he removed her majesty the queen as head of state.

Enoch Powell consistently pointed this out, but was silenced.

Oh, and by the way, the true cost of membership is £121 billion per year if you include the cost of implementing laws and regulations that they impose on us without Westminster’s approval.

Come off it: ‘Bromsgrove sucker’ who are you trying to kid ?

Peter McHugh, Alvechurch, secretary UKIP Bromsgrove
