I AM the care manager of the Leys Residential Care Home in Alvechurch.
I am writing to you to express my anger about the use of Hopwood Village Hall for the recent referendum voting.
I brought some of our residents to the village hall to vote only to find that the access was totally unacceptable.
The disabled entrance was on the other side of the car park, where our residents were unable to walk that far. Then the access was via a steep ramp.
The presiding officer was very helpful and advised that she had only been notified the night before that the room which was usually used was unavailable due to building work.
Surely, there had been enough time to organise building works around the referendum voting, or enough time to find a much more accessible venue?
