FOLLOWING a recent visit to attend a grave in Church Road cemetery, Sidemoor, the newer of the two sites, the left hand side with the church at the your back, I was appalled at the state the grassed areas had been left in.
There was obvious evidence of previous grass mowings everywhere even stacked up against grave stones, it was clear that the people attending to graves had done an excellent job in looking after them, despite council’s approach of leaving grass cuttings everywhere with total disregard for people feelings.
It would be reasonably simple to save peoples feelings and hard work by fitting grass collection boxes to mowers. Or ensuring that contractors did the same.
Another solution could be to collect the cuttings with a rake?!
With the increase in council taxes, would it be prudent to give residents value for money?
There was weed growth on walkways and moss visible on footpaths dangerous for the older people.
If the local MP was having yet another photo shoot the area would look different.
Have we found yet another activity that this Conservative led council are incapable of achieving as with planning which has been put into special measures by the government, that recent debacle of the regeneration of Bromsgrove High Street and IT systems that are not fit for purpose to name just a few.
