I WOULD like to take this opportunity to thank the voters of Droitwich Central for voting for me in the recent local election and pledge to do my utmost to represent the whole of the Central ward on the town council.

I moved to Droitwich two years ago following a number of years “commuting” to appear in productions at the Norbury Theatre but always wanted to live here. When I came for my first audition, I fell in love with Droitwich and want to do my best to represent the people of this historic and beautiful town.

As the only Labour councillor to be elected it may seem to some that I will not be able to do a lot but this will not stop me trying for all of the people in the Central ward as well as other parts of town.

To be elected at my first attempt I consider both an honour and a privilege and an indication of the faith the people of Droitwich Central have placed in me, a faith I intend to honour over the next four years.

Alongside this, I and my Labour party colleagues heard the message sent to us at the election – that we need to give a clear message to the public to rebuild faith in us – a task we are committed to.
