I read a lot in the papers of how bad the treatment and waiting times are at the Alexandra Hospital.
I was taken ill on Monday, April 27 with pneumonia.
My wife phoned for an ambulance about 7.30am and the medics were here before my bags were packed. They got me breathing again calmly and took me off to the hospital.
When I arrived at the hospital I was put into a cubical and they explained that it could be a long wait, but communication and information was constantly given to us, also food and drinks were offered.
I was taken up to the ward MAU and everyone was so nice, drinks and food again was constantly offered to my wife and myself, my medication was given on time and even though the food was not to my liking, they found alternatives for me.
A big thanks go out to all the staff in A&E and MAU for putting up with me.
The only complaints I had was while in A&E my wife had to sit on a hard plastic chair for several hours and the communication from the doctors to the hard-working nurses passing on notes were very poor.
God bless them all.
