I REFER to the letter from Stan Francis which contains a number of inaccuracies, not least being his inability to spell my name correctly.
A council tax freeze cannot be an abuse of taxpayers’ money, as it means that every council taxpayer has more money in their own pockets to spend as they wish.
The amount of New Homes Bonus for the district has already been included in the council budget passed at the last council meeting. The amount was agreed in committee by the leaders of the Conservative group, the Labour group and the Independent Alliance.
The outdoor gym, which is proving very popular, was funded from Section 106 monies from a development in Clent. These monies are used for the benefit of communities affected by developments.
Therefore, Mr Francis, get your facts right, I do not throw money around, and despite the claim in your letter, I will not, and cannot, stand in two wards.
Councillor Margaret Sherrey
Bromsgrove District Council leader
