AFTER months of hard work by the contractors and council staff, the town’s High Street was re-opened at the end of August, giving full and easy access to all areas, with better passageway past market stalls.
Now the main work is complete, it is easy to forget the difficult underground and foundation work which was necessary to achieve the finished article.
The improvement to drainage is best noticed on a day of heavy rain when it will be seen that the water does generally not stand on the surface of the paving as it did with the old surface.
We once again have a complete surface which is now in natural materials, the paving being augmented by trees, planters and seats and also new lighting.
The Bromsgrove Society is pleased to congratulate all parties on the completed work, including Worcestershire County Council, Bromsgrove District Council and the contractors, Alun Griffiths Contractors Ltd.
