I WAS shocked and horrified to read that Bromsgrove District Council is spending £26,000 on a trapeze display in the High Street on July 19.
The work on the High Street cannot be finished by then and it is very difficult to negotiate a route through all the works that are going on. Extra crowds along the High Street would only make things worse.
For Councillor Webb to suggest that shops stay open later to encourage trade is laughable. Any visitor would be greeted by the sight of complete disorder and too many empty shops. I do not consider that this is the right time to stage such a spectacular event.
