YOUR excellent report last week on the proposed housing development in Whitford shows clearly that the developers and the county council planners have no new plans to make this development workable.
As it stands, the extra traffic generated by these huge new estates will produce serious congestion and danger to pedestrians, including school children.
The idea that this extra traffic should be funnelled through Deansway, Fox Lane, Millfields Road, Shrubbery Road, Brook Road and the town centre would be laughable were it not so menacing.
The developers have thrown a few crumbs of comfort to the residents – a few cycle tracks and footpaths.
But the core of this outrageous plan still remains in place.
As for the damaging consequences, the planners seem to be saying: “Tough! You will just have to put up with them.”
Most members of the planning committee do not live in Bromsgrove town, so it is vital they familiarise themselves with the real impacts these plans will have before they make their decision on June 30.
