WE would like to thank the Bromsgrove Advertiser and everyone in the Bromsgrove for supporting the Stroke Association’s Action on Stroke Month in May.

Our NotJust a Funny Turn report revealed thousands of people are putting themselves at risk of a stroke by dismissing their passing symptoms as ‘just a funny turn’.

Although it’s one of the UK’s biggest killers and leading causes of complex disability, far too many people don’t understand stroke or think it will happen to them.

With the Advertiser’s support more people are now aware of the warning signs of a mini-stroke, also known as a TIA or transient ischaemic attack. By taking the right action, when ministrokes strike, we could all prevent around 10,000 strokes across the UK every year.

We’d also like to thank Legal & General for their generous support for Action on Stroke Month and the mini-stroke campaign.
