THE letter from K Breillat, “Station needs a disabled lift”, last week, suggesting that Bromsgrove’s longawaited new train station would not include lifts to enable less able passengers access to the trains indicates some crossed lines in communications.
Access for all has been a priority of the station project.
The county council, Bromsgrove Rail Users Group (BRUG ) and the district council have all campaigned for better facilities to be incorporated into the new station.
Lifts and other facilities for disabled travellers, staffed building with toilets and improved security are all on the way.
An excellent Bromsgrove Station Newsletter has been published by the county council, which includes plans and impressions of the new station and includes pictures of the lifts.
The newsletter has been delivered to residents around the Aston Fields area but copies can be obtained by other residents from Bromsgrove library.
