I NOTE with interest the decision of Steve Colella and Brian Lewis to leave the Conservative Party and resign from their seats as Conservative councillors.
The lack of democratic process in Bromsgrove Council House is commonly known, so their decision to resign should not be a surprise to anyone.
These two councillors are to be commended for displaying the courage of their convictions, which is to serve the best interests of their respective communities and the people of Bromsgrove as a whole.
In recognition of their total commitment to their communities I believe that the electorate should overwhelmingly support them, should they choose to stand on their own merits in the future.
In conclusion it is my opinion that this event should be seen by the people of Bromsgrove as a wake up call to take more interest in individuals, rather than parties who may be incapable of delivering a commitment to our cherished democratic processes.
