Crash anniversary

2:00pm Friday 31st May 2013

I wonder if I could appeal to your readers for help in locating the site of the following wartime air crash on Carters Hill, Hanbury.

Time to keep local elections local

3:18pm Wednesday 29th May 2013

I was disappointed that, in writing about the local elections, Mr Javid highlights three issues – the economy, welfare and immigration – as those that came up most frequently on the doorstep and goes on to make claims about what the national government is doing about them. Mr Javid, along with his government and much of the popular press, seem to have lost sight of the fact that these were local elections.

Fighting back

10:00am Monday 27th May 2013

AFTER hearing about the vandalism at St Andrew’s Church, I wanted to do something.

Good Samaritans

8:00am Sunday 26th May 2013

THROUGH Your View, I would like to thank Dudleys Coaches, of Inkberrow, who helped us out with a problem at the end of a visit to the town by 28 members of Bromsgrove’s twin town Saint-Sauveur Lendelin in France.

Footbridge praise

11:00am Saturday 25th May 2013

While waiting for a bus at Bromsgrove bus station last Wednesday, I was pleased to see the new wider all metal footbridge being fitted into place across the town brook adjacent to the public toilets replacing the previous wooden footbridge which was condemned in November 2012.

Plan concern

1:00pm Friday 24th May 2013

I am writing with concerns over Droitwich Town Council’s refusal to pursue a neighbourhood plan.

Ten-storey flats

9:00am Thursday 23rd May 2013

The person who wrote the letter in Your View on May 8 sounds very much like the politicians, councillors and developers with his opinion on where to build these horrid looking buildings in so much as you can build them where ever as long as they are not built by him.

View from Westminster - May 22

3:00pm Wednesday 22nd May 2013

This year’s Queen’s Speech included many initiatives that will interest Bromsgrove residents.

An elitist and snobbish attitude

10:29am Wednesday 22nd May 2013

Recently, a leaflet has been distributed by the Oakalls Action Group urging local residents to support yet another revised planning application for what will now be 25 houses to be built on the last remaining development site on the Oak-alls estate.

Make a point

3:00pm Monday 20th May 2013

I HAVE just read Susan Fish’s letter on the subject of speeding points on the A491 near Belbroughton (Your view, May 8). I cannot believe what I have read.

Show support

11:00am Sunday 19th May 2013

As a former chairman of Save Our Green Open Spaces (SOGOS) I am dismayed to hear that the planning applications may now be passed for over 750 houses to be built on Yew Tree Hill, following the granting of applications at Copcut Lane (740), Harrison Park (64), Hanbury Road (23) and the applications at Blake Avenue (28) and Tagwell Road (103). This flies in the face of the local community’s wishes and the sustainable development of Droitwich as a town.

Time for change

9:00am Sunday 19th May 2013

THE mid-term vote in the county council elections sent shockwaves through parliament with UKIP making in-roads into what was a three party race.

Cut parking fees

12:00pm Saturday 18th May 2013

MAY I suggest, on behalf of the traders and those shoppers still loyal to Bromsgrove, that the time has come to reduce car parking charges.

A good result

3:00pm Friday 17th May 2013

Through your pages may I thank all those who took time to vote for me on Thursday, May 2.

Pay rise concern

11:00am Friday 17th May 2013

I HAD the Labour party round our street this week asking us what we thought of the party.

D-Day for plans

11:00am Thursday 16th May 2013

The following planning applications, Yew Tree – 11/01073/OU – Barberry – and 12/02336/OU – Persimmon – will be considered at a planning meeting tomorrow (Thursday) from 2pm at the Council Chamber, Civic Centre, Queen Elizabeth Drive, Pershore.

Thanks for votes

11:00am Wednesday 15th May 2013

I WOULD just like to thank everybody who voted for me on Thursday, May 2, in the Droitwich East election.

View from Westminster - May 15

10:00am Wednesday 15th May 2013

Members of Parliament are always told that they should never talk about a speech they are going to give in the Houses of Parliament, in case they never get a chance to give it, writes Peter Luff MP.

Concerned by Norton Farm plan

9:40am Wednesday 15th May 2013

I recently received an e-mail from Bromsgrove District Council that had no subject and an obscurely named attachment – unsurprisingly, it ended up in my junk items.

Station parking

12:00pm Monday 13th May 2013

I CALL upon the authorities, especially Bromsgrove District Council and Worcestershire County Council Highways Department, not to proceed with the scheme for the new Bromsgrove railway station currently displayed for public consultation.
