Parliamentary candidate helps create wetland

PARLIAMENTARY candidate Richard Burt has put on his wellies to help with a reed planting initiative in Pershore.

The planting is one of the final stages in the creation of a new wetland area alongside the river at Avon Meadows.

Volunteers and students at Warwickshire College Pershore have sown 50,000 reed seeds and these plants are now being dug into the ground.

“It was great to see so many volunteers bending their backs to help with the planting,” said the Liberal Democrat candidate.

“This is a terrific project for Pershore and a credit to all the councils and environmental groups that helped to make it a reality.”

This man is employed full time as his wife's assistant, she being a LIB Dem MP. It will be interesting to see how much time he devotes to the job he is being paid for. We have seen enough of these political stunts and "jollies".
