AN AUTISTIC teenager has become an author after one of his books about a magical goat was published.

Sam Shooter, aged 19, who lives at AALPS Midlands, a residential college at The Rhydd, Hanley Castle, near Malvern, has had a children’s book published called The Goat In The Coat.

Mr Shooter, who researches his material on the internet and draws his inspiration from television, said: “I have already written several other books but this is the first one I have had published.

“I would like to be a writer and to do reading tours. I would also like to make films.

“I have had a lot of positive comments about the book. Writing is a passion.”

The story, which is aimed at people aged 12 and under, concerns a magical talking goat who can perform incredible magic tricks, juggle with four balls at once and even has the power to double money.

He appears by surprise at the 10th birthday party of a boy called Joe who wishes for the best ever birthday party.

Mr Shooter wrote the book as a present for his brother who is also 10 years old and shares the same name as the book’s birthday boy.

The book, published by Xlibris, also contains colourful illustrations by Mr Shooter.

He hopes the book will be available on Amazon in between four to six weeks.
