A 20-YEAR-old man has been seriously injured after he got into an argument with his boyfriend in Worcester, according to a witness.

The resident said the injured man was bleeding from his ears after he was punched in the face by his partner in Lowesmoor, Worcester, last night.

Police have arrested two males, aged 37 and 17, in connection with the incident and the injured man is currently in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

The victim's mother, Tina Holmes, posted on Facebook that her son, Jake Holmes, is suffering from a fractured skull and bleeding to his brain.

Eyewitness Angelika Korus, aged 24, of Lowesmoor, Worcester, said: “There was a gay couple. They had an argument, I saw it from the window.

“He punched him and he fell down. He hit his head on the kerb and after that he took him by his hands and started to pull him and then he pushed him down again.

“That was really bad, I was like ‘poor person’. From his ears blood was coming out and he wasn’t breathing for a few minutes.”

The Polish warehouse worker said the assailant tried to hit her friend when she came outside.

She added: “I called the police and the ambulance, the police came first and we were waiting like 40 minutes for the ambulance.

“When I went down he [the assailant] said ‘don’t let him die, I love him, he’s my boyfriend’. This guy was crying.”

Ms Korus said the incident unfolded at around 9pm and officers arrested the man at the scene.

She added: "I can't stop thinking about it. Police were standing here all night, till 8am this morning.

"I will move out of here next week. I've lived here for two months and it's too much."

Her friend went to the police station this morning and was told that the injured man is in a bad condition.

The victim's mum, Tina Holmes, from Worcester, wrote on Facebook: "I'm absolutely heartbroken to have to tell you all that my boy Jake was attacked last night in town.

"He's now in intensive care in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. With a fractured skull and bleeding to his brain and cochlear implant.

"He's critical but getting the best care. The only reason I'm putting this on here is because the police are asking for witnesses, so please if u hear anything please let them know.

"And I'm begging you all to pray for my boy, thank you."

DI Chris Watson, of West Mercia Police, said: "A 20-year-old male has been injured. [He] sustained an injury and is being treated for a serious medical condition in hospital, however he remains stable at this time.

"Several people have been arrested and police are continuing with enquiries. We are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

"We don't believe that weapons were used."

DI Weston added that the victim is unconscious at the moment.
