PUPILS from Nunnery Wood High School enjoyed a trip to Berlin, which support their studies of Weimar, Nazi Germany and the Cold War era.
The students spent an action packed four days in the city, experiencing a very wide range of history and culture.
During the visit, the students visited Sachsenhausen concentration camp, the Olympic Stadium, Reichstag, the Berlin Wall experience, the Holocaust Memorial, the German Resistance Exhibition, Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie and a guided river cruise.
There was a chance for some down time with the pupils managing to fit in swimming, bowling and souvenir shopping.
Bee Speechley, from Nunnery Wood who led the trip, said: “It was a very successful.
"The students gained so much from it and will remember it for the rest of their lives.
"It reinforces their understanding of events that they study as part of their GCSE course, but also encourages their independence and sense of adventure in addition to understanding of the world around them.
"They coped very well with the content of what they saw and experienced and took the opportunity to reflect and ask questions."
