FIREFIGHTERS will be attending two Pride celebrations in the city this weekend.

The service plans to offer fire safety advice at the Worcester LGBT+ Pride and Worcestershire Pride events and also carry out rescue drills, which members of the public can take part in.

They will also be asking the attendees whether they feel there are any barriers to joining the fire service.

Worcester LGBT+ Pride, also known as the Rainbow Festival, will be held tomorrow (September 22) in Archdales Club, Blackpole, while Worcestershire Pride takes place on Saturday at the South Quay and Copenhagen Street car park.

Crew commander Louie Longhi said: "Hereford Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews are looking forward to attending the pride events in the city of Worcester.

"Please come and visit us at either event to talk to us about working for the fire service and your general home fire safety."

The Rainbow Festival runs from 4pm to 9pm and Worcestershire Pride will take place between noon and 8pm.
