A WORCESTER carvery is supporting British servicemen and women by offering them a free meal today (Saturday June 24) in appreciation of their work and to mark Armed Forces Day.

Toby Carvery, on Bath Road, is inviting local armed forces personnel to enjoy a free breakfast or carvery meal in appreciation of their work.

Armed Forces Day enables the country to show its support to the men and women who represent the UK in the Army, Navy and Royal Air Force.

Toby Carvery’s offer is open to all military personnel, from serving troops and reserves to veterans and cadets, and can be claimed by downloading a voucher and presenting this along with their military ID or veteran’s card.

Martin Gosling, brand operations director for Toby Carvery, said: “Armed Forces Day is a brilliant opportunity to show our thanks for the work both serving and ex-military have done for our country.

“We are proud to support our troops and can’t think of a better way to thank all those involved than by giving them a roast dinner on us.”

Toby Carvery has also announced its charity partnership with The Royal British Legion, which will see it support the charity with fundraising initiatives over the next two years, and has added a special charity pudding to its menus with 25p from each pudding sale being donated to the organisation. It is aiming to raise £100,000 for The Royal British Legion by the end of 2018.

• Armed Forces Day will also be marked in Worcester today when Worcester Lions Club presents the Chivenor Military Wives choir at Huntingdon Hall, Deansway, Worcester, at 7.30pm.

• The choir was established in 2011 when Gareth Malone visited the RMB (Royal Marines Base) Chivenor (Devon), and created a choir for the BBC The Choir: Military Wives programme.

• Since then they’ve shared in the success of two number one albums, In My Dreams and Stronger Together, as well as the Christmas number one single, Wherever You Are.

• Chivenor Military Wives is a choir made up of wives, mothers, daughters and partners of British Military personnel, serving and retired. The members are proud to brighten lives and enable like-minded women to experience the enjoyment and friendship that comes from being part of the choir at Chivenor.
