THE Three Counties Agricultural Society Bursary in Memory of Joe Henson MBE is back again offering grants of up to £3,000 studying agriculture or related subjects.
Ken Nottage, the society’s chief executive, said: “Joe was a highly-regarded member of the Three Counties Agricultural Society and it was his vision and passion for rare breeds that sees us champion them as a core part of our Royal Three Counties Show today.”
The bursary supports up to three years of study, with up to £1,000 a year provided to two students.
Tom Saunders was one of the lucky students awarded with last year’s bursary. He said: “Being awarded the bursary has allowed me to continue with my studies at Hartpury with an agricultural degree that started in September 2016. The grant has had a positive impact on my daily life and has taken certain pressures away. From working part time and relying upon any grant funding offered to me I value all the bursary’s support.”
Applications will close on Friday, July 1. Interviews will be held during July and August by a panel of bursary board members from the three counties including a member of the Henson family.
Successful applicants will be informed as soon as possible thereafter. To apply, applicants must complete a form on the Three Counties website at threecountiesagriculturalsociety.co.uk and Adam Henson’s Cotswold Farm Park website at cotswoldfarmpark.co.uk.
