A WOMAN was killed when her car crashed into a tree in Wythall, near Bromsgrove.

The woman, in her 40s was pronounced dead at the scene after her car left the road and hit a tree.

She was driving a Fiat 500 along Hill Lane from Weatheroak Hill towards Chapel Lane at around 9.20am yesterday.

A passer-by saw the crash and stopped to help before two ambulances, a BASICS doctor, a paramedic area support officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford with a MERIT trauma doctor on board attended the scene.

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw the incident or who can help with the investigation.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Upon arrival ambulance staff found a member of the public performing CPR on the woman.

"Staff and medics took over resuscitation efforts and commenced advanced life support at the roadside.

"Despite the best efforts of the passer by and ambulance staff it was not possible to save the woman and she was confirmed dead on scene.”
