A DRINK-driver was involved in a crash when she pulled out into the road and forced another car into a ditch, a court was told.

Worcester Magistrates Court heard that Kerry Winfield, 36, of Coventry Avenue, in Worcester, pulled out in her Mini Cooper at 9.40pm on Friday, February 3 in front of another car, forcing it into a ditch.

No-one was injured during the crash.

Winfield was breathalysed and gave a reading 67 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeding the limit of 35 microgrammes/100ml.

Gregory Burke, duty defence solicitor at the court on Thursday, February 23, said Winfield was his "most regretful" client of the day.

"She was devastated by what happened," he said. "She is married with a child and has not had any previous convictions, she realises it was a dreadful error of judgement."

Winfield was banned from driving for 20 months, fined £400 and ordered to pay £135 costs and a £40 victim surcharge.
