STUDENTS from a Malvern dance academy will be representing England in America.

The senior lyrical jazz team at Dance in Motion Academy will represent England in Los Angeles in April, during the International Festival for Performing Arts.

They will take part in the international competition and compete against teams from all over the world and will also be entertaining guests at Disney land in California.

Gemma Hinton, principal at Dance in Motion Academy said: "We are so proud of our senior team; they train so hard and we feel so privileged to be representing England in Los Angeles.

"This is a dream come true for all of us and we can’t wait to compete in the USA."

The Dance in Motion Academy in Sandys Road, Malvern offers over 110 classes a week to children and adults in a range of dance styles.

Just a few days after the senior jazz team return, 14-year-old Bryony Heasman and 22-year-old Ceri Solomon will return to the USA as part of the freestyle pom team and the paracheer freestyle pom team respectively.

They will represent Team England in the ICU Cheerleading and Dance World Championships in Orlando.

The two students from the ‘Dance in Motion Academy’ auditioned in front of a professional panel to gain places on these teams in 2016.

They have been attending training in Leicester, Coventry, Manchester and Telford on a regular basis to train with Team England.

Ms Hinton added: "Both students are so excited to be representing their country at this fantastic competition and cannot wait to fly the flag for England."
