A CATTERY owner wants a woman to collect her cats after she 'dumped' them at her home.

Dianne Schaus, who runs Hillview Cattery, in Bretforton Road, Badsey, said the cats were left at the centre on Tuesday, January 17.

The cat owner said she would pick up her three moggies in a few days' time but never returned.

Ms Schaus, 69, said: "She gave me a sob story that she was moving house. She left her three cats with me.

"I felt sorry for her as she said she had been poorly in hospital and she was coughing really bad.

"She rang me the next day and said her husband had been offered a temporary house in Worcester and said she would see me that day.

"But she never turned up. When I rang her after that, the phone didn't work. I think it was a dumping, I've never had one before.

"I can't afford to keep them, I have got five cats of my own, plus a stray which lives here anyway."

Ms Schaus said the mother, Bagpuss, and two kittens, Holly and Tiny, have been well loved.

"I really want to see her come forward and let me know what's going on and does she intend to fetch them or has she dumped them," Ms Schaus said.

"Can you get in contact? It's expensive keeping three cats. I have got to move them on."

The cattery owner checked the bed and breakfast the woman said she was staying at but found that there were no cars outside.

She was supposed to receive payment for housing the cats but now faces paying their expenses indefinitely.

We tried to contact the owner on the phone number she gave Ms Schaus but it was not possible to connect the call.
