A NETBALL team which has grown in popularity after it was set up by a group of working mums is asking for help to fund their dresses.

Raiders netball team has grown in membership and seen on court success but their current uniforms are getting old and shabby.

However, to replace the dresses will be at a cost of £40 for each of their 27 members but the club's subs only stretch as far as court and umpire costs.

Sian Gray helped to set up the club while working at Worcester Community Trust but decided to continue after being made redundant.

She said: "It started as a way of getting mums out of the house and get them into exercise.

"We went to Hollymount School and they let us train on their playground.

"We had 14 regular members so we entered into the Worcester league and around that time we got the dresses.

"The players put in half and the other half came from the community.

"Since then we have grown into three clubs in the Worcester league with 27 members in total.

"We're doing really well, we've grown huge but we are desperate for new dresses so I thought we'd try crowdfunding."

They hope to raise £600 towards the dresses for the club where members range in age from 17 to 48 years old.
