A FATHER and son say they have been left "crushed and heartbroken" after their beloved motocross bikes were stolen.

Adrian Whadcoat and his son, Nick Whadcoat, had spent thousands of pounds on the scrambler bikes, which they described as their "pride and joy".

They discovered the bikes had been stolen from their home in Eavesmoore Road, Redditch, after Nick’s wife came back from taking their children to school on Wednesday morning.

She noticed that the gate locks were broken and the four bikes – three belonging to Adrian and one to Nick – were gone.

They believe the bikes were stolen between 6.30am and 9.30am.

Nick, aged 28, said he felt “crushed” and has now lost confidence in buying new bikes.

His father, aged 55, said he has been left feeling heartbroken and “violated”.

“We are working class people who worked hard to get these bikes, it feels like our passion has been taken away from us," he said.

The father and son team have a passion for revamping bikes, having spent over £10,000 on their machines.

As well as buying and improving their own scramblers, they also help friends with their bikes.

“It made me lose my passion for them. It also made me uncertain of whether I should buy any more bikes," said Nick.

“It’s not just about the bikes being stolen, but it’s about the damage caused to our family knowing that thieves broke into our house”.

The bikes stolen are a yellow and red Suzuki rmz 450, two Honda 125s and a Suzuki 125.

Police are investigating and anyone with information should call 101, quoting incident number 146S071216.
