A WOMAN has thanked the emergency services after a fire broke out in her home yesterday morning (Thursday).

Two people were taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital following the house fire in Park Avenue, Barbourne, at just after 6am.

The woman, who is in her 30s, managed to put the fire out before the fire service arrived but had suffered smoke inhalation.

She said: "I wanted to say a huge thank you to the emergency services that attended.

"The firefighters even made sure our pets were safe while they ventilated the house.

"I would also like to thank the paramedics and police."

"They were all brilliant."

A man, thought to be in his 50s, was taken to hospital for treatment to burns on his foot.
