SCHOOLCHILDREN met with their local MP during a visit to the Houses of Parliament.

Year 6 children and the school council of Sytchampton Primary School toured the Palace of Westminster and chatted with Nigel Huddleston, MP for Mid Worcestershire.

The group also enjoyed an education centre workshop during the visit.

Mr Huddleston said: "It was a pleasure to welcome children from Sytchampton School to my workplace and I was really pleased to see how excited and interested the children were and how much they had learned about the history of the buildings and what goes on in Parliament.

"I was particularly pleased that they got the rare opportunity to see the Prime Minister in action during Prime Minister’s Questions."

The children asked a range of challenging questions during the Q&A session and Mr Huddleston said he was reassured to see so many young people showing a keen interest in politics.
