AN otherwise typical foot patrol led to a brush with fame for two special constables.

The pair bumped into Katie Price on The Cross as the television star made her way to Bushwackers for a meet and greet with fans.

The 38-year-old celeb was appearing at a freshers' event on Monday evening alongside Stephen Bear, winner of Celebrity Big Brother, and X Factor's Reggie N Bollie.

Hundreds of people packed out Bushwackers in Trinity Street hoping for a chance to meet the celebrities and get the all-important selfie with the reality television stars.

The voluntary officers work hard during freshers' week to keep the city safe for students and residents.

DJ Paul Winfield was working at the club and said: "It was amazing.

"Sin and Bushwackers really delivered this year with some amazing acts.

"It was great to be a part of it.

"The club was full and the atmosphere was amazing which made my job very easy."

Among the fans at the club was Kaitlin Bowen who travelled from Droitwich Spa to meet Katie and Bear.

The 21-year-old said: "It was such an incredible night and such an amazing experience.

"I looked up to Katie Price when I was a young teenager so I was a bit starstruck.

"She's even more stunning in person and a pleasure to meet.

"Bear is so chilled and one of the nicest 'celebrities' I've had the pleasure of meeting.

"He stood chatting with me and my friends for ages and he was full of energy - proper ready to get the party going.

" One of the best nights out I've ever had in Worcester thanks to Bushwackers and I would love to relive it over and over again!
