A DOUBLE Olympic champion is to return to Whitbourne Village Shop she originally opened, and will be showing off her latest gold medal.
Hundreds saw Heather Stanning open the shop in February 2013, just six months after she won gold in the London Olympics - which was memorably Team GB's first gold at those games.
Today, August 29, the rower will be back at the shop to meet customers from 11.30am, fresh from her success at the Rio Olympics when she won the second gold with Helen Glover in the women’s coxless pairs.
The community owned shop supports local farmers and producers and has achieved sales of more than £200,000.
It is staffed by volunteers ensuring it is open seven days a week, closing only at Christmas.
